Welcome to the home-page of Asian Federation of Psychiatric Association
It is a great pleasure to welcome you and inform you about the Asian Federation of Psychiatric Associations (AFPA).
AFPA is the Federation of national psychiatric societies and associations operating on the continent of Asia. You may be a member of the national psychiatric society of your country in Asia.
As the first president of AFAP, I would like to express my thanks to enormous support provided by a large number of national psychiatric societies and associations in Asia. One of the important missions of AFPA is to unite psychiatrists of all Asian regions and to improve academic standard and psychiatric services in Asia. Our goal is ” Excellence in Asian Psychiatry”. We have still many miles to go. We have to promote our unity and achieve our goals in Asia. AFPA will grow only with your continuous support.

皆さま，アジア精神医学会のホームページにようこそ。
アジア精神医学会(AFPA)は、アジア大陸で活動している国々の精神医学会の連盟です。
アジアには、世界の人口の６割を超える人々が住み、異なる文化、宗教、政治体制、経済発展事情の中での生活を送っています。平均寿命、乳児死亡率をはじめとした公衆衛生のレベル、医療事情も様々です。そして、アジアの国々の多くは、近年、目覚ましい経済発展をとげ、お互いの交流も活発になっています。精神医学の分野では、西暦２００２年、日本精神医学会が、創立１００周年を記念して横浜で世界精神医学会世界大会をアジアで初めて開催しました。日本精神医学会はアジアの精神医学、医療の向上を目指しての横浜宣言を発信しています。以来、東アジアの精神科医の行き来が増えています。アジア精神医学会という名前は耳慣れない言葉かもしれませんが、今後アジアの精神医学の発展にとって重要な役割を果たすことが期待されています。
以下に簡単にアジア精神医学会をご説明します。
1. アジア精神医学会とはなにか？
Asian Federation of Psychiatric Associations(AFPA)を邦訳したものです。 アジア大陸で活動している国々の精神医学会 (national psychiatric societies and associations operating in Asia ) の連盟です。アセアン、東アジア、南アジア、西アジア、中央アジア、オセアニア諸国の精神医学会が会員です。現在２０以上のアジアの国々の精神医学会がアジア精神医学会連盟の趣旨に賛同し活動を支援しています。アジアには国としての精神医学会が存在しない国もありますが、そうした国では、精神医学会や精神医療関係者の団体(National Mental Health Association)の設立を支援しています。
2. アジア精神医学会の目的
アジアの国々の精神医学会、精神医療従事者の交流を支援し、アジアにおける精神医学、精神医療の向上を図ることがアジア精神医学会の目的です。また、アジアの国の多くは欧米諸国の植民地時代が長く、精神医学も欧米の影響のもとにあります。アジア独自の精神医学、精神医療の確立を模索しています。
